Sometimes when we're outside on the back patio bbq'ing, we take out Garrison's Pack and Play so that he can get down and play on his own.
Here are some pictures of him playing the other day while mom and dad made pizza on the bbq grill!
He practiced standing up tall in the Pack and Play, and then pressing his hands and face into the mesh sides.

The other day I heard Emmett walk up to Amy and exclaim the following statement: "Mommy, I'm not a baby anymore, and someday I will grow up to be a big daddy; But right now, I'm just a medium size."

Early this morning, sometime before 5am I think, Emmett climbed down out of his bed, and walked into my bedroom and woke me up.
He was very concerned about a dream he had just had. Actually, it took quite some convincing to him that it was only a dream.
He told me that (in his dream) he caught Garrison chewing on a piece of his legos and was choking on it.

Since Garrison has been mobile (he can crawl, but prefers to hold your hand and walk/stumble around) we've been reminding Emmett to put away his small toys when he's done playing with them so Garrison doesn't get them and choke on them.
I suppose subconsciously it sank in, and caused him to dream about it last night.
During lunchtime today, I had an opportunity to talk to Amy, who said Emmett kept walking around the house this morning checking on Garrison every so often to make sure he indeed, was not choking on any of his toys.

Do you remember seeing this picture of Amy at the baby shower for Emmett?

Emmett has since grown attached to this horse, and each night he says: "I can't sleep without my horse."
This usually causes us to walk around the house each night looking for the horse before he can settle down and fall asleep.
On our vacation to the Lake of the Ozarks we accidentally left the horse where we were staying.
Once we returned, it was hard for Emmett to fall asleep each night.
Our friends, who's place we stayed at, were going back down to the lake themselves the next week.
To our surprise, they found the missing horse, and brought it back home to Emmett!

Emmett promptly wrapped it up and swaddled it calling it "his baby" and that he'd never leave it behind again. |
