| Message: With an extra box of cake mix, butter and food coloring laying around, what else are you supposed to do besides make spritz cookies?! We gathered up our blue food coloring and made spritz cookies. As soon as they came out of the oven, we put them onto a cooling rack on the kitchen table. It wasn't anytime at all and Emmett had walked over to the kitchen table and was reaching up towards the cookies. We broke a cookie into half and gave him some. His eyes lit up, and he started to walk away with his cookie in hand. A few steps later, he realized he needed another piece of cookie and made a u-turn to go back for more. I think it's safe to say he liked them! |

| Topic: Cold Weather Camping |

| Message: This past weekend we wanted to try and sneak in one more weekend of camping before the weather got too cold and we couldn't go anymore for the season. We packed up our tent, new air mattress, warm blankets and headed out to the woods. We cooked foil packs for dinner, (which Emmett loved) peach cobbler for desert, and pancakes, eggs and bacon for breakfast. Emmett went to bed about 10pm, and we were a little concerned he'd be too cold in the 40 degree weather. After a short while of sleeping next to him, we realized it wasn't going to be a problem. In fact, he was going to keep us warm! He was sweating under the covers! Once the rain stopped drizzling on Saturday evening, the clouds parted, and gave way to a beautiful starry night. |

| Topic: Halloween Shirt |

| Message: This morning before we left the house Emmett got dressed in his Halloween shirt. Whenever he looks at this shirt, he just starts giggling. Stand him in a silly shirt next to his scary Halloween tree, and he just cracks up! |

| Topic: New Camping Mattress |

| Message: This afternoon we took a trip to walmart to get a new camping air mattress. We selected a queen size, extra high air mattress and brought it home. Emmett was a little skeptical seeing a full sized bed in the middle of the living room floor where his toys used to be. As I (dad) was laying there on the mattress, Emmett grabbed the box that the mattress came in and began dragging it across the living room floor. The box flaps were open and they kept snagging on the floor, chair legs and even the mattress itself but he kept going. Finally he got the box over to the couch in the living room and scooted it up to the legs of the couch. Within seconds he was standing up in the middle of the couch, and playing with the lamp behind the couch. Normally Emmett can't get himself up onto the couch because it's so high, but with a little ingenuity and his MacGyver skills, he managed. |
