Topic: Picking Pumpkins
Date: 2007-10-21 19:48:50
Message: Today we went to Braeutigam Orchards in Belleville Illinois to pick out some pumpkins to decorate for Halloween. Once we arrived at the orchards, a tractor and wagon gave us a ride out into the pumpkin fields. Emmett was so excited to get down and walk in his shoes through the pumpkin field. He did a great job walking and stepping over the tangled pumpkin vines! The first pumpkin he came to he bent down and gave it a great big hug. You could say it was an "Emmett Sized" pumpkin.

Topic: These Boots are Made for Walking
Date: 2007-10-21 11:24:47
Message: On Friday night we went to the store and got Emmett some new scoots. Knowing we'd spend all day Saturday outside playing at the TrashCan BBQ, we decided to get Emmett his own pair of shoes so that he could walk around outside instead of being held all day. We put a pair of shoes on him at the store to see if they fit him, and he just stood there for several minutes just looking down at his shoes. His very first step with the shoes on, he tripped and fell. It didn't take him long though, and he was walking just as fast with his new shoes as he was without them.

Topic: Visit To Grandpas House
Date: 2007-10-21 11:21:30
Message: Saturday morning we went to visit Great Grandpa Bell. Our cousin Stephanie was there, and she got to visit with Emmett for the first time since he was born. After Emmett got done playing with the dog Shaky, he was showered with gifts. Stephanie got him a toy car that shakes and plays tunes, a brown teddy bear, and a t-shirt that reads "Lock Up Your Daughters".

Topic: Toys That Bite Back
Date: 2007-10-19 18:01:59
Message: This afternoon Emmett found one of his old wooden clothes pins laying around the bedroom floor. He picked it up and began playing with it. A few minutes later and he started crying, while still holding the clothes pin. I thought he had pinched his tung or lip with it, since now he's strong enough to get the clothes pin to open and close. When we went to check on him it was apparent that he had opened the clothes pin and pinched his other hand with it. We knew he pinched his hand, because when we picked him up, the clothes pin was still pinched to his little finger. I just hate it when toys bite back!
