| Message: This past weekend was the Eureka Days Parade. We got up early Saturday morning, braved the spitting rain, and headed out to be volunteers at the parade. Emmett was so excited to be there with us, especially after someone handed him a balloon to hold. Emmett has always gotten excited at WalMart when he sees the balloons in the isles there but we've never actually gotten one for him to hold before. He played with his balloons all during the parade and even when we got back home. |

| Message: Move over aunt Lizzy--Emmett can climb! He may not walk on his own yet, but he can climb. Emmett's favorite mode of getting around these days is to push an object in front of him and walk behind it. Today, while pushing the diaper box, he spied his apple on the table and decided to go for it! He pushed the box to a chair that had been left out (all illustrated by the accompanying photo) and proceeded to climb onto the box and then chair to grab his apple. Can you say determination? Lucky for us--he didn't fall! |

| Message: This week Emmett discovered that he could take a toy, stand up, and walk by pushing it across the floor. Over at Grandma Bell's house he walked around the entire kitchen pushing a jug of water. Today he was walking around the house pushing a box of diapers. It won't be long before he can walk unassisted! |

| Message: This week we discovered that Emmett can drink from a straw. He's been wanting to drink from a sippy cup more and more, and so we tried a cup with a straw. He Loved it! |
